Manvin Bhatia

Manvin Bhatia’s academic journey reflects her dedication to honing her quantitative and research skills. A graduate of Delhi University in India, Manvin pursued Cal Poly’s MSQE program to advance her expertise in economic consulting.

“Cal Poly’s ‘Learn by Doing’ philosophy, supportive environment, and accomplished faculty made it an easy choice for me,” she explained. “The teaching pedagogy was enriching, and the experience was both challenging and fulfilling.”

During her time in the program, Manvin received the Academic Excellence Award and delivered the student commencement address. “The program enhanced my technical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, which are crucial for economic consulting,” she shared. Working on various projects provided hands-on experience, while the cohort structure strengthened communication and team-building skills.

Manvin’s favorite experience was working as a Research Assistant with Dr. Steve Hamilton on a renewable energy project. “It was an incredible opportunity to conduct research, collect data, and present findings,” she said. Outside the classroom, she was an active member of the Cal Poly International Student Friendship Club and worked as a Research and Student Assistant for professors, gaining valuable practical experience.

Since graduating, Manvin has excelled as a Consultant at Berkeley Research Group in Emeryville, CA, applying the skills she developed during the program to her professional role. She advises current students to start networking early, as connections made during the program can pave the way for future career opportunities.

Looking ahead, Manvin plans to continue progressing in economic and legal consulting, using the solid foundation she built during her time at Cal Poly.
