Applications are accepted from October 1 through April 1. All applications and supplemental items must be received by April 1.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and you are encouraged to submit your materials as soon as possible.
We accept applications for fall quarter admission only.
The MST program is not currently accepting applications from international students.

A bachelor’s degree in accounting or other discipline from a regionally accredited college or university is required to apply, or must be completed prior to the program start date.
A minimum GPA of 2.5, on a 4-point U.S.A. scale, in the last 60 semester (90 quarter) units is required to apply.
Meeting the minimum may not be sufficient to obtain admission. The program is competitive and most successful applicants will have a GPA above 3.0.
Applicants must have completed 8 quarter units (or 6-8 semester credits) in intermediate-level financing accounting, and 4 quarter units (or 3 semester credits) in Federal taxation.
Financial accounting topics must include comprehensive coverage of all financial statements (including the Statement of Cash Flows), current and non-current assets (including intangible assets and investments), current liabilities, time value of money, long-term notes and bonds, stockholders’ equity, and revenue recognition.
The application is completed and submitted via the Cal State Apply web site. A non-refundable fee of $55 (USD) is required.
On Cal State Apply you will submit each of the required items listed below:
Statement of purpose:
Summarize your career objectives, experience and reason for interest in this degree program
A resume including education, employment, extracurricular/community activities, publications, if any, and memberships
Letter of recommendation:
Two (2) confidential letters from a professor or manager/supervisor
Either GRE or GMAT score are accepted. Official score reports must be sent to institution code 4038.
Copies of transcripts from all previously attended colleges and/or universities are to be uploaded

Note: Official transcripts are not needed from students who received their undergraduate degree from Cal Poly and have not attended any other colleges or universities since their graduation from Cal Poly.
